ステートメント：
観光ガイドの導きに従い、定められた経路をなぞる。その途中で浮かび上がるのは「見るべき風景」と、無意識に通り過ぎる「何か」との共存である。誰かによって語られ、演出された場所の背後には、制度や慣習によって不可視化された風景が広がっている。観光という行為を通じて、見ることの構造と、その選択の恣意性があらわになる。

本プロジェクトは、そうした視線の制度的枠組みを箱型のインスタレーションとして提示する試みである。鑑賞者は段ボール製の箱の内部に入り、観光地の風景を覗き込む。その身体的行為を通じて、選別された風景、あらかじめ設計された視野、そして「見る／見られる」という関係性を浮かび上らせる。

Statement:
As we follow the guide and trace the set path, what comes into view is not only the “scenery meant to be seen” but also the unnoticed details we pass by. Behind places narrated and staged for us, there stretches another layer of landscape―one made less visible by custom and convention. Tourism, in this way, reveals how our ways of seeing are framed, and how selective those frames can be.
This project explores these frameworks of vision through a box-shaped installation. Visitors step inside a cardboard structure and look out at tourist scenes through a small opening. In this simple physical act, the work highlights how scenery is curated, how viewpoints are pre-designed, and how we are always both “seeing and being seen.”
